Harvey Trombley Obituary

Harvey Trombley 78, of Bowling Green, OH., passed away on September 28, 2018. Harvey was born to the late Harvey and Rose Trombley in Toledo, OH.; grew up in Trilby, and Point Place; where he raised a family with his First Wife Gloria.

Harv is survived by his Second Wife Lisa with whom he shared 18 years. Gloria (now deceased), and Harv have 4 living Children: Steve (Teresa) Trombley, Karen (Todd) Kerr, Dave (Karen) Trombley, and Bob Trombley. Harv is blessed with seven Grandchildren, and one Great Grandchild: all of whom will continue his legacy here, in the Great U.S.A.!

Harv was a wonderful street-smart gentleman, who grew up as an only child. He wasn’t much for school, but that didn’t matter, as he could get anywhere he wanted on his own two feet. When that didn’t work, he strapped his Dad’s lawnmower engine to an old bike out of his junkyard, and he went even further!! He often said his Dad had the lawnmower with the most “mileage” on it around! Harv loved FISHING, pigeons, making engines run that hadn’t in years, Model A Fords, along with riding bikes/Whizzers, and Motorcycles. He lived and breathed swap meets; looked constantly for great deals, and one day a deal came his way he had waited almost a lifetime for: he finally got his elusive Sea Ray boat! Harv has left this earth wishing he could have gotten it back in the water one more time to have caught at least one more fish. You know that really big one! He refused to give in to illness, and was even planning a Fall Swap Meet at the old bike shop on the old stomping grounds in Grand Rapids. His wish for the later will be honored by his Loyal Hobby Friends Oct. 25th to 27th.

Harv served in the Navy; Retired from GM Powertrain; and started his own Business with Larry Busch: Memory Lane Classics. There, he and Larry made Antique Bicycle History, with their ever-faithful Jerry Herron. MLC was also where he met his current wife Lisa, as she made a fateful move of rescuing an old bike from the unlimited curbside trash. The rest as they say is History. The last few years proved to be a Medical Trek for Harv. Though through that, he savored one great medical emergency in the “Dragster of the Sky” (he got a helicopter ride up to Toledo Hospital). Thanks GM for the great insurance, and to all the Medical Professionals we met along the way. He survived many close calls over the years.
