Stanley Eugene Maas, 91, of Bowling Green, passed away on December 2, 2018 at Wood Haven Health Campus.
Stanley was born to the late Henry and Blanche (Luke) Maas on April 27, 1927 in Bowling Green, Ohio. He married Loretta “Midge” Butler on November 25, 1950 in Bowling Green, Ohio and she preceded him in death on January 13, 2016. He was preceded in death by six siblings: Marjorie Stimmel; Patricia Molley; and Harold, Kenneth, Bernard, and James Maas. He is survived by a sister: Donna Barr, of Bowling Green, Ohio.
Stanley proudly served his country in the United States Army from July of 1945 to January of 1947. For He was employed by BGSU for 29 years as a plasterer and painter. He was formerly active in the VFW #1148. He loved fishing, bird-watching, the outdoors, wildlife and dancing. He was also known for being a news junkie. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his five children: Michael (Jeanie) Ballard; Vickie (Mark) Fletcher; Kathy (John) Junk; Dick (Cindy) Maas; and John (Samantha) Maas. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 from 6 to 8PM at the Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home & Crematory, 1460 W. Wooster St., PO Box 648, Bowling Green, Ohio Tele: (419)352-2171. Funeral Services will be private for the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Stanley’s honor to Wood Haven.
