Daniel Martinez Obituary

Daniel L. Martinez Sr., 66, of Bowling Green passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2019.  Daniel was born on October 2, 1953 to the late Jose and Maria (Salazar) Martinez in Pemberville, Ohio.  He married Maria (Gonzales) on June 12, 1982 and she survives him in Bowling Green.

Daniel is also survived by his sons: Andrew Gonzales; David Pratt; Daniel Martinez Jr.; & Gabriel Martinez all of Bowling Green; sisters: Irene (Fred) Faithful; Ann (Frank) Farley; brothers: Carl (Suki) Martinez; Mario (Carol) Martinez; Rick Martinez; & Tom (Tammy) Martinez; grandchildren: Madison, Natalie, Jeremiah, Maya, Dominic, Jacob, & Jaelynn. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother: David Martinez.  

Daniel was a 1971 graduate of Eastwood High School and attended BGSU.  He served our country in the US Air Force for 4 years, then joined the Army National Guard.  He retired from the Nation Guard after 20 years of service and all his friends called him “Sarge”.  He was an avid reader and wrote short science fiction stories. He enjoyed karaoke and fishing.  Daniel especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Daniel’s honor may be gifted to the family.

A Funeral Mass for Daniel will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 10:00 AM in St. Aloysius Catholic Church 150 S. Enterprise Street Bowling Green, Ohio 43402.
