Rita Francis Bergner

Rita Francis Bergner, 85, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2019. She was born on November 12, 1933 to the late Walter and Anne (Fullerman) Witherstine in Youngstown, Ohio. 

Rita is survived by her daughters: Roseann (Mike) Ott, Vanessa Schroeder, Theresa Zoltek & Debbie Stevens; sons: Jerry (Nancy) Stevens, Mark (Julie) Stevens, & Mike Stevens; sisters: Rosemarie (Phil) McGuire, Mildred Elswick, & Margorie Mead; brothers: Edward and Leroy Witherstine; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rita was preceded in death by two sons: Ricky Ziegler, and Robert Stevens; brothers: Walter, William and Donald Witherstine. 

Rita was a very caring and giving person.  She enjoyed sewing and would donate prayer blankets and dolls she made.  St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and Disabled Veterans organizations she was passionate about.  She helped out with the Hufsmith Kids after school program at the United Methodist Church in Tomball, TX.  Rita loved to shop, go to the casino, and eat out with family and friends.  She was known for and would give everyone she saw one of “Rita’s hugs”.  She will be dearly missed.

Memorial contributions in Rita’s honor may be gifted to St. Jude Children Hospital.

A Memorial Gathering for Rita will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019 from 9:00 am until her Celebration of Life service at 10:00 am in the Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home & Crematory, 1460 W Wooster Street, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402. Burial will Immediately follow at Eisenhour Cemetery in Pemeberville, Ohio.
