Bernita Ann Bishop

Bernita A. Bishop, 88, of McComb, went to be with the Lord and was reunited with her loving husband Gene on Tuesday, September 27, 2022.

Bernita was born on February 8, 1934 in Mt. Blanchard, Ohio to the late Harry and Irene (Dick) Bunnell. She married the love of her life R. Gene Bishop on June 11, 1952 and he preceded her in death on May 27, 2019. Bernita is survived by her children: Nancy (Dennis) Marquart of Jenera; Karen (Dan) Walski of Transfer, PA; Linda (Glenn) Brickman of McComb; Janet (Ben) Butler of McComb, and Steve (Shelley) Bishop of Findlay; 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and her sister Emma Lue (Robert) Snively of McComb.

Bernita was a 1952 graduate of McComb High School and was a proud farmers wife. She worked as a cook for McComb Local Schools for ten years. Bernita was an excellent seamstress. She was a good Christian and was a great example to others. One of Bernita’s greatest enjoyments was gathering with her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation for Bernita will be on Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 PM in the HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME, 370 Park Dr. S., McComb, Ohio 45858. Bernita’s Celebration of Life Service will be on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the McComb Union Cemetery.
