C Edna (Dukes) Stone

Edna (Dukes) Stone passed away on May 1, 2022 at the Laurels of Gahanna Nursing Home.  She was born on August 10, 1935 in Cordova, AL.  Edna was the 

sixth of nine children born to the late Lonnie and Christine (McBeth) Dukes, Sr.  She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters:  Catherine (Richard) Sanks, Irma (Fred) Crowder, and Joyce (Nolan) Brown; four brothers; James (Catherine) Dukes, Sr., Alfred (Arlessa) Dukes, Sr., Lonnie Dukes, Jr., and Stanley (Clara L.) Dukes.

On June 25, 1959, Edna was united in holy matrimony to John Stone in Lima, OH., who preceded her in death on April 22, 1986.  Edna was a member of Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church, she worked at Ford Motor Company, Clemans Bakery, and at the Argonne Hotel.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory a sister:  Rosemary Dukes of Champaign, IL., a son:  Craig (Kathi) Stone of Columbus, OH and a daughter: Karen Johnson of Colorado Springs, CO., three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, and many loved nieces and nephews.

Services will be Friday, May 6, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at HANNEMAN-SIFERD FUNERAL HOME, 506 N. Cable Rd. Lima Ohio 45805, with her daughter Minister Karen Johnson, officiating.  There will be no visitation/wake prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow service at Woodlawn Cemetery.
