Charles R. Griffith, 87, of Findlay joined our Father in Heaven on Tuesday, March 21, 2023.
Charles was born on November 14, 1935 in Bluffton, Ohio to the late Albert and Ellen (Criblez) Griffith. He is survived by his loving children: Kelley (Joe Julian) of Delaware, Charles (Mary) Griffith II and Teresa (Sean) Griffith-Rivard both of Michigan; grandchildren: Madison, Emma, Beckett and Parker and siblings: Bonnie Ritter, Dona Krebs, Dorothy Freeland, Shirley Miles, Jim Griffith, John Griffith and Bill Griffith. He was preceded in death by siblings: Bob Griffith and Harriet Fleckner.
Charles farmed in Van Buren, and was employed and retired from Whirlpool in Findlay. Charles enjoyed being outdoors and near the ocean. He was an avid hunter who also enjoyed owning and working on classic cars, especially his Ford Model T's. In his later years, he lived in Florida and spent hours sailing on small boats, and watching boats and ships sail in and out of the harbors of Florida with his friends, children and grandchildren. It was his favorite retirement pastime.
Charles was a calm and caring individual. He was very approachable, and made others feel comfortable. He was an extrovert, who would make friends with anyone he encountered. Charles always saw the best in people, something that he bestowed upon his family. Out of everything, Charles' true love was his family. He truly cherished each moment he was able to spend with them and was extremely proud of both his children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 24, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Hanneman Funeral Home, 201 Osborn Ave., Findlay, Ohio. A Private Burial will be held in the Becthel Cemetery.
