Della B (Edwards) Archer

Della B. Archer, 96, of Lima, passed away on January 13, 2023 at 9:18am at her residence. She was born on April 14, 1926 in Vaughnsville, Ohio, to Spencer and Esther (Reynolds) Edwards. Both parents preceded her in death. On August 18, 1950, Della married Roger Archer, and he passed away in February of 1977. They were married for 27 years.

Della worked in accounting, first at City Loan, and retired from the Allen County Clerk of Courts. She volunteered at St. Ritas Hospital for 20 years, and attended Lima Baptist Temple. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, who could remember the dates of all her grandchildren’s birthdays. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and poetry. She loved her family most of all and enjoyed the time she spent with them.

She is survived by her daughters; Cindy (Tom) Stiles, of Lima, Barbara (Stephen) Cerne, of Chicago IL., and Lora (Craig) May of Columbus Grove: a son Robert (Lori) Archer, of Indianapolis,  IN., 8 Grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren with another great granddaughter arriving in February. Her siblings; Pat (Gene) Helms of Findlay, and Reynold (Sondra) Edwards, of Columbus Grove, and sister-in-law’s Jane Edwards and Carol Bowsher. In addition to Roger, she was preceded in death by her brothers; Robert, Keith and Dale, and Sisters; Doris, Mary Lou and Janet Lea “Gigi,” and Donna Ilene.

Friends may call at HANNEMAN-SIFERD FUNERAL HOME 506 N. Cable Rd. Lima Ohio 45805 on Thursday, January 19, 2023 from 2-5pm and 6-8pm, and on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 10-11 at the funeral home followed by a service at 11 am, officiated by Pastor Gary Homen of Lima Baptist Temple. Burial will follow services at Pike Run Cemetery Gomer. Family requests Memorial Contributions can be made to St. Rita’s Hospice or Lima Temple Christian School.
