Douglas E. Coolidge, 60, of Elida, Ohio, passed away on Thursday April 11, 2024, at the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay, Ohio, after a two and - a - half year courageous battle with cancer. Doug was born on August 23, 1963, to Ronald E. and Mary Ellen (Pence) Coolidge. On October 28, 1989, Doug married Darlene M. Hamilton who survives in Elida.   

Doug is survived by his two children who he was immensely proud of: son Brice D. (Rachel) Coolidge of Cincinnati, Ohio: daughter Sidney R. (Luke Greeley) Coolidge of Cincinnati, Ohio; He is also survived by his sister Kaille (Mark) Dieringer of Lima; brother Jeff Coolidge of Columbus Grove; mother – in – law Shirley Hamilton of Elida; sister – in – law Teresa (Jerry) Gilden of Delphos. Doug is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Erik Jettinghoff; Megan (Terence) Hoff; Jenna (Jeremiah McKie) Gilden; Alex (Daniele Roca) Dieringer, Claire (Alex Bond) Dieringer; Burke Coolidge; Corey Coolidge. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends.  

Doug was a 1981 graduate of Elida High School and was also a graduate of the carpentry program at Apollo Career Center. Doug was the Owner and Operator of Midwest Commercial Millwork and Wall Beds Manufacturing. Both successful businesses that he built from the ground up through hard work and dedication. He wants his employees to know how much he appreciated their loyalty and hard work as key components in the success of his businesses. He was a member of Lima Community Church in Lima. He was also a member of the Architectural & Woodwork Institute and Moose International of Lima and Indian Lake. Doug enjoyed golfing, boating, and spending time with his family and friends at Indian Lake especially his buddies that he could enjoy many cold beers and great food with.  

Doug was preceded in death by his parents and his father – in – law Kenneth Hamilton.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday April 16, 2024, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Siferd Hanneman Funeral Home in Lima. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday April 17, 2024, at Lima Community Church in Lima, with Pastors Brad Taylor and Chip Bullock officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Elida. Memorials in Doug’s memory are to be directed to Lima Community Church or James Melanoma Clinical Research of The Ohio State University - C.C.C.

The family expresses a special thank you to Olivia Kesner and Bridge Hospice Care Center and their wonderful staff for their excellent care of Doug in the final days of his illness.
