Ernestina C Torres

Ernestina “Tina,” Cruz Torres, 87, of Lima, passed away at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at 5 pm. Tina was born on July 21, 1934, in San Antonio, TX. The daughter of Cristobal and Andrea (Rivera) Ozuna. She was married on April 28, 1951, to Rosalio D. “Charlie” Torres. 

Tina retired from Marimor Industries and was a lifelong supporter of the Special Olympics. She enjoyed volunteering and cheering on the athletes, especially her own Special Olympian, and son Victor Paul Torres. 

Tina is survived by her eldest son; Carlos Torres and daughter-in-law, Sheila Torres, and daughter, Yolanda J. Gelo. Tina and Rosalio were the proud grandparents of 8 grandchildren,11 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by beloved husband Rosalio "Charlie" Torres; father and mother Cristobal and Andera (Rivera) Ozuna; daughter Stella J. Ryan; son Victor Paul Torres; grandson Anthony M. "Tony" Gelo; brother Raul Mendez. 

Tina was a beautiful lady, who adored her family. She was a devout Catholic woman with a strong faith, which she lived every day. Friends may call at HANNEMAN-SIFERD FUNERAL HOME, 506 N. Cable Rd.
