Gloria Jean (Russell) Banks

Gloria Jean Russell- Banks was born May 12,1954 to the union of Mary Elizabeth Russell-Davis and Clarence Senior Russell in Lima, Ohio.

Gloria received her formal education at Lima Senior High School.

Gloria accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of 16 years old and was united with New Morning Star Baptist Church. Later in life she became a member of Philippian Missionary Baptist Church where she served as an usher alongside working on the kitchen committee.

Gloria was blessed with three children. She was employed by General Motors as an Assembly line worker until her retirement.
In her leisure, Gloria enjoyed cooking & assisting with taking care of people.
Gloria Jean Russell-Banks departed life on November 26, 2022. She was preceded in death by her Mother; Mary Elizabeth Russell-Davis,  Father; Clarence Senior Russell, and her brothers; Johnny Russell, Darrell Sanders and Stevie Sanders.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters; Fatima Adams and Lagracra Russell of Columbus, OH and her son; Lashawn (Davinia) Russell of Lima, OH., four sisters; Barbara Long (Richard) of Lima, OH., Diane Sanders of Springfield, OH., Cynthia Bell of Columbus, OH., and Mary Sanders of Columbus, OH., three brothers; Michael Russell of Lima, OH., Robert (Kelly) Russell of Atlanta GA., and David Russell of Ft Wayne IN., 11 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. A host of nieces and nephews and bonus daughter Ella Bivens.

Friends may call at Philippian Missionary Baptist Church 190 E. 8th St. Lima Oh 45804 from 8am-10am on Saturday, December 3, 2022. At 10 am, A Homegoing Service will begin, officiated by Rev. Dr. LaMont Monford Sr. Interment will immediately follow services at Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made in Gloria’s memory to: The American Cancer Society.
