Gordon T Jones

Gordon T. Jones, 84, of Lima, passed away on March 29, 2024, at St. Ritas Medical Center. He was born on April 30, 1939, in Lima, the son of Raymond Jones and Maxine E (Thomas) Stamper. Both parents have preceded him in death.

Gordon retired from the US Army, and also served in the US Air Force for 4 years, prior to doing 16 years in the Army. He was a Bronze Star Recipient. He was a Legal Assistant in the JAG (Judge Advocate General) office. He had owned his own auto mechanic business and also worked at Allen Correctional. He was an avid fisherman, golfer, enjoyed going to the casinos. Gordon enjoyed hanging out at the Eagles in Lima, and was a former Financial Board Member at VFW 1275, in Lima. He was quite a character and will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him. 

Gordon is survived by a daughter; Kimberly Butler of Findlay; a son, Gabron T. Jones of Fla, 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by 2 sons; Gabriel Jones and Gordon T. Jones Jr. Also by his sister; Dorothy Jones, and his son-in-law ; Mark Butler.

Friends may call at HANNEMAN-SIFERD FUNERAL HOME, 506 N. Cable Rd. Lima OH 45805 on Thursday April 4, 2024, from 11 AM to 1 PM, with a service to be conducted at 1pm, by Pastor Dennis Ward. Interment of his cremated remains will be held at a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made toward the VFW Honor Guard. Veterans Honors Will be Provided by the VFW 1275 Honor Guard, US Army Active Duty, and the Patriot Guard Riders to honor this Veteran and lay him to rest.
