Jan Douglas Dorr

Jan “Snag” Douglas Dorr, 68, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Spring Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation in Green Springs, OH. Jan was born December 6, 1954 to the late Louis and Jean (Young) Dorr. He was a 1973 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and Vanguard Career Center. Jan’s hard work ethic helped him to fulfill the duty of providing for his family throughout the years. He worked for Ballville Township from 1974-77. Jan then worked for the Sandusky County Engineers from 1977 until he retired in 2015.

Jan enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, Sprint Car and NASCAR racing. He was a captain of various pool league teams for many years. Jan enjoyed socializing in his garage with friends and family. He most cherished the time he got to spend with his loving children and grandchildren.

Jan is survived by his children; Sarah (Andrew) Barman, Jennifer Dorr-Keegan, Meagen (Daniel Smith) Dorr, Janice Dorr all of Fremont, Andrea (Ivan) Shapoval, Mansfield, OH, and Adam Stover, Hillard OH; grandchildren; Aidan, Callie, Jackson, Ellie, Karissa, Karsyn, Madalyn, Mari’yah, Malayah, Austin, Matthew, Cade and Navi, and brother William “Bill” Dorr, Panama City, FL.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at Hanneman-Keller Funeral Home 416 South Arch Street, Fremont Ohio. Following visitation, a graveside ceremony will take place at McGormley Cemetery, Fremont, OH.
