Julia Ann Burkmier

Julia Ann Burkmier, 63, of Findlay passed away Friday, September 23, 2022 at St. Catherine's Manor of Fostoria.

Julia was born on May 31, 1959 in Findlay, Ohio to the late Thomas Shumaker and Suzanne (Schwab) Clouse. She married Terry Burkmier on September 23, 2006 in Findlay and he survives in Findlay. Julia is also survived by her daughters Jessica Sterling of Findlay, Jennifer Rose (Jason) Rhoads of San Antonio, Texas, grandchildren: Sarah (Rafael) Martinez, Jakob and Gabriel Rhoads, and Elizabeth “Ellie” Ostrander-Sterling; siblings: Michael (Jean) Shumaker and Steven (Pam) Shumaker; step-siblings: Sherri (Vernon) Burkholder and Scotty (Rosario) Clouse. She was also preceded in death by her brother Kenneth Shumaker.

Julia loved animals, and while she never realized her dream of becoming a veterinary technician she did rescue animals whenever she could. She loved her dog Lizzie and her cat Harry. She collected elephants as a hobby and loved to watch Dr. Pol on NatGeo. 

Visitation for Julia will be on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of Her Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 p.m. in the HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME, 201 Osborn Ave., Findlay, Ohio 45840.
