Robert Babcock Jr.

Robert “Bob” Babcock Jr., 70, of McClure passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at St. Vincent’s Hospital, in Toledo.

Bob was born on March 5, 1952 to the late Robert and Marry (Meisner) Babcock in Toledo, Ohio. Bob had five siblings growing up Walter, Sandy, Rick, Janet and Lisa.

In the summer of 1991 he met the love of his life Carolyn Hackworth and they were married on January 23, 1993 in Greenup, Kentucky. Robert is survived by his wife Carolyn, step-daughter Tammy (Jeff) Taylor of Malinta and step-son Jeremy (Nicole) Treen of Grand Rapids; four step grandchildren: Ashlynn, Brennyn, Keaton and Maevyn

Bob was currently employed by Schutz Container Systems in Perrysburg and was previously employed by J.A.D Machine in Malinta, Cast Metals of Deshler and Oldcastle Precast of Napoleon. When Bob was not working, he enjoyed spending time with the love of his life and family. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and singing to people.

Visitation for Bob will be on Monday, January 23, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home & Crematory, 1460 W. Wooster St., Ohio 43402. Bob’s Celebration of Life Service will be on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 11:00 Am in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Beaver Creek Cemetery, Grand Rapids.

Memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s honor to Children’s Cancer Fund or to the Ronald McDonald House.
