Ruth Ann (Quillin) Mahlmeister

Ruth Ann Mahlmeister, 80 years old, passed away on May 3, 2022, at 10:03 am at Lima Memorial Health System. She was born on December 9, 1941, in Lima, the daughter of Henry R. and Ruth L. (Daughtry) Quillin. Both parents preceded her in death. She was married to Michael Mahlmeister and he also preceded her in death.

Ruth Ann was a homemaker and was actively involved in her children’s and grandson’s events and sporting activities. She loved watching sports. Her life’s purpose was to be a mother, it was her calling. She was also a licensed beautician, and kept her license active until recently. She was a devout Catholic and did daily devotions for almost two hours every night. She had many admirable qualities but one that stood out the most was she always loved giving “hugs” to everyone.

Survivors include two sons: Mike (Josie) Mahlmeister, Mark (Linda) Mahlmeister a daughter; Susan (Bert) Scalzo, a grandson: Seth Mahlmeister.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Tom Quillin, Herk Quillin, and sister Mickey Wertz.

Friends may call at HANNEMAN-SIFERD FUNERAL HOME, 506 N. Cable Rd. Lima Ohio 45805, on May 10, 2022 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. On Wednesday May 11, 2022, at 10:30 am,  a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Gerard Catholic Church 240 W. Robb Ave., Lima Ohio 45801. Father Mike Sergi will be the celebrant.
