Ruth Gangluff

Ruth E. Gangluff, of Tiffin and formerly of Attica, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024 at the Embassy of Willard nursing facility in Willard, Ohio. Ruth was born on May 21, 1940 in Willard, Ohio to Henry and Doris (Mills) Featheringill. Ruth married Daryle Gangluff in 1958 and they later divorced.

Ruth’s survivors include her two sons, Phillip (Marilyn) Gangluff of Tiffin and John (Bev) Gangluff of Attica; granddaughters Laura (Jen) Jordan of Springfield, Ohio, and Nicole (Cole) Helberg of Perrysburg, Ohio, along with great grandsons Tucker and Toby Jordan of Springfield and step granddaughters April Sanders of Delphi and Angie Koch of North Fairfield. Ruth is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister and brother-in-law Jean (Gene) Heibertshausen.

Ruth attended Richmond School in her early years and then graduated from Attica High School in 1958. She attended Stautzenberger College in Findlay, Ohio where she earned degrees in Medical Assisting and Accounting. She worked as a bookkeeper at the Attica Landmark before transferring to the Tiffin Branch. She retired from the accounting department at the Blanchard Valley Hospital. Ruth belonged to several different churches and was currently a member of the Faith United Methodist Church. She was a member of many church choirs. She enjoyed playing the organ and was also the organist at several churches in both Attica and Tiffin over the years as well as playing for different events. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s sporting events and was a diehard Cleveland Guardians fan, rarely missing a game on the TV. She also enjoyed reading and crocheting. She was a former member of DAR – Johnny Appleseed Chapter, the Mayflower Society, and the Tiffin Business & Professional Women Group.

Visitation for Ruth will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 1:00 PM until the time of her Celebration of Life Service at 2:30 PM in the Hanneman Funeral Home, 295 Tiffin Street, Attica, Ohio.

Memorial Contributions in Ruth’s honor may be gifted to the Seneca East Public Library or the charity of the donor’s choice.
