It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our mother, grandmother, & friend Ruth Ann (Osborn) Guyer as she was called home by her Lord and Savior on September 26, 2022. Ruth was born to Ronald & Marcella (Wilhelm) Osborn on February 23, 1942 at home in rural Henry County near Liberty Center. She was the first of seven children: Ruth Ann, Carol, Shirley, Alice, Terry, Sandra & Victoria.
Graduating in 1960 from Liberty Center High School with bookkeeping and office practice interests, Ruth Ann was immediately employed by Landmark in Napoleon with the responsibilities of bookkeeping, payroll, & grain records. On November 30, 1963, Ruth married her high school sweetheart, Robert Howard Guyer at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Napoleon. Ruth continued her work at Landmark until the birth of her first child, Gregory, in 1964, at which time she became a stay-at-home mom. Anne was born in 1967, followed by Beth in 1968 & Marcia in 1974. Ruth Ann returned to bookkeeping in 1977 with a new job at German Village Products in Wauseon. In 1980, Campbell Soup Company purchased GVP and she was transferred to the Napoleon plant offices, working in Financial Planning for most of her 22 years there. Ruth retired from the Campbell Soup Company in 2001. In retirement, she and Bob farmed & traveled the US and sometimes Canada to visit friends, family, and their beloved grandchildren, as well as to enjoy Allis Chalmers and other types of antique tractor shows as Bob was an avid collector. Ruth & Bob spent 43 happy years together before his passing in January 2007. After the loss of Bob, Ruth Ann continued to live near Colton on the Guyer Homestead helping Greg farm, enjoying her 12 grandchildren and great grandchildren, traveling many times to Branson, Missouri & also the Northeastern US on bus tours, as well as a trip to Germany & Austria. She also made several trips to South Carolina with Marci & Tim, as well as Anne & one time with her grandson Joe (what an adventure that must have been!) to visit Beth and her family & sometimes the beaches of the Grand Strand & Charleston. Ruth remained active in her parish, St. Patrick Providence, she enjoyed lunching with friends & the retiree group from Campbells & was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it! Her servant heart & charitable nature were well known & cherished by all who knew her.
Ruth Ann is survived by her siblings – brother-in-law Jack Hoeffel of Napoleon, Shirley Osborn of Bryan, Terry (Mary Kay) Osborn of Liberty Center, Sandra (Harry) Bleschke of Napoleon, & Victoria Newton of Indianapolis, IN as well as her four children Gregory (Karen) Guyer of Liberty Center, Anne Guyer of Liberty Center, Bethany (Michel) Morin of Moore, South Carolina, & Marcia (Timothy) Bruns of Napoleon. She has also been blessed with 12 adoring grandchildren – Bruce (Tiffany) Guyer of Malinta, Matthew (Riley) Guyer of Delta, Susan Guyer of Perrysburg, Joseph (Ashley) Guyer of Liberty Center, Robert Morin of Columbia, SC, Abigail (Alejandro Morzán) Morin of Greenville, SC, Robert (Adream Watson) Sanchez of Napoleon, Samuel (Nicole) Sanchez of Napoleon, Alexis (Anthony) Cook of Findlay, Leah Morin of Moore, SC, Elizabeth (Andrew) Williams of Central, SC, & Jacob Bruns of Napoleon. As well as 8 beautiful great grandchildren – Evelyn, Aiden, Wayne, Emmaline, Tessa, Nova, Benjamin, and Winona.
