Wanda McCoy

Wanda McCoy, 89, of Willard, Ohio passed away November 13, 2022. Wanda was born on July 9, 1933 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio to the late Leonard and Pearl (Stull) Brooks. Wanda married Donald McCoy on December 26, 1952 and preceded her in death on July 21, 2022.

Wanda worked for many years for the Board of Elections as a poll worker. Wanda was active in church activities, doing crafts for Bible School, and taught Sunday School at Greenwich Church of Christ. She enjoyed doing crafts, completing puzzles and reading books. Wanda, along with her husband Donald, were members of the Gold Wing Rider Association and rode with them for over 20 years. They traveled to 46 states and up into Canada on their motorcycles. The most important part of her life was her family and she will be missed by all.

Wanda is survived by her children: Donley (Linda) McCoy, E. Kelly McCoy, Michelle (Carl) Kooken; grandchildren: Michael (Nicole) McCoy, Nicole (Ian) Akridge, Angela (Josh) Hughes, Christopher (Megan) Kooken, Ashley (Larry) Berry, Benjamin (Sarah) Kooken, Hilary (Aaron) Gerber; 21 great grandchildren; and several loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband Donald, her parents, her brother Theodore Brooks; and foster parents Walter & Bessie Brokaw who raised her from a young girl.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 10:00 AM until the time of her funeral service at 11:00 AM in the Snyder Funeral Home, Fredericktown Chapel, 33 E College St, Fredericktown, OH 43019 with interment to follow in Forest Cemetery. 

Memorial Contributions in Wanda's honor may be gifted to the American Cancer Society.
