Willaim "Bill" Wetmore Obituary

William “Bill,” Wetmore, age 83, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 26, 2022, at 7:16 am., surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born on November 11, 1938 in Toledo, Ohio, the son of George and Ruth (Hohman) Wetmore, his parents are both deceased. On October 9, 1982, he was married to Patricia Barnett Ritchie, and she survives him in Lima. 

 Bill was a Pipefitter, a skilled tradesman working out of Local 776 of the (Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. He worked for Tilton Corp., Smith Boughan, and Bechtel Corp., and had worked at many different jobsites, among them; Procter and Gamble, Minster Machine, the Met Bank, the Lima Refinery, Cook Nuclear Plant, and many of the Department stores in Lima. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, and was an MP, from 1956-1959. He loved to build things and to restore old things. He built 4 kit cars (2 dune buggies, a Bradley, and an MG), enjoyed model railroading, model building in general, having won awards for his exquisite work. He was an avid fisherman, camping and traveling much of the US. Bill was a past member of the Gold Wing Motorcycle Club, BPOE Elks Lodge 54, and was a proud member of Local 776. He received his 60- year award this year; it was a moment he was truly proud of. Throughout his years of employment, Bill was well respected as a Pipefitter, and as a friend.  One of his greatest moments was when he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.

 In addition to his wonderful wife Pat, whom he dearly loved, he is survived by his children; Cindy (Augustine) Tuma of Lima, Becky (Reed) Nutt, of Delphos, Wanda (Dan) Murphy of Bryan Texas, and William (Missy) Wetmore Jr. of Hebron, OH. Bill had 3 siblings; Kathy (Scott Kramer) Vermillion of Ada, George (Jill) Wetmore of Troy, and Rick (Jean) Wetmore of Lima. His grandchildren; Libby (Shawn) Nutt of Valparaiso IN, Coralynne Wetmore (of Lima), Miranda Carroll, and Mary Hill, and Gabriel Grubb and Emily Grubb (of Hebron); Great-grandchildren; Alli (Sierra) Diller of Westfield IN., Zaylin (Cassandra McGue) Nutt of Ada, Casey Nutt, and Sophia Nutt of Valparaiso, IN.

Friends may call on Monday, October 3, at HANNEMAN-SIFERD FUNERAL HOME 506 N. Cable Rd., Lima Ohio 45805 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on October 4, 2022, at 12:30 pm, with a visitation 1 hour prior to service. Pastor Neal Whitney of The Church at Allentown will officiate the service. Interment will follow services at Memorial Park Mausoleum, where this Veteran will be given a final salute by Active Duty Army, The American Legion 96/VFW 1275 Honor Guard, and the Patriot Guard Riders.
