Obituary

William “Bill” Lennig, 78, of Findlay passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023.

Bill was born on August 7, 1945 in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania to the late William H. and Louise (Crum) Lennig. While attending the House of Prayer in Aliquippa, Bill’s parents introduced him to the love of his life Emily Parrish, they were married on July 9, 1966 and she survives in Findlay. Bill is also survived by his loving children: Kimberly (Mike) Diaz, William Scott (Kathleen) Lennig and Amy (Donnie) Webster; loving pappy of: Joshua, Allison, Emma, Rick, Jonathan, McKenna and Devin; great-pappy: Sasha, Spencer, Lilly, Kyler, Calliopea and DJ; a sister Carolyn McCaffrey. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Frank McCaffrey.

Bill attended Robert Morris University and then enrolled at Ohio Northern University, where he obtained his Bachelors Degree in Accounting. After graduating from Ohio Northern, Bill took a job at Marathon Oil Company in Findlay where he worked in the accounting department, retiring in 1999 after 33 years of service. Bill was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Findlay. Bill and Emily were inseparable, they enjoyed playing couples volleyball, dancing clubs and a good game of pinochle. Bill also enjoyed playing a good game of golf and bowling. Bill devoted his life to his family. He helped coach their baseball and softball teams as well as being at all their extracurricular activities. Bill had a great sense of humor, he was energic, spunky and always had a joke to share. He was the life of the party and was willing to help anyone in a time of need. He had a contagious smile that would light up a room and made friends with anyone he came in contact with.

Visitation for Bill will be on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 3:00 until the time of his Celebration of Life Service at 5:00 PM in the Hanneman Funeral Home, 201 Osborn Ave., Findlay, Ohio 45840.

Memorial contributions may be made in Bill’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to the American Cancer Society.
